Březnice - Jewish ghetto, synagogue
The synagogue is situated in the centre of a small ghetto called Lokšany. It was established in the first half of the 18th century after a forced Jewish resettlement and includes 24 Baroque houses, the best known being the Popper Palace. The ghetto lies next to the square and is connected by a narrow passage.

Kolín used to be an important centre of Jewish culture and education. The Jewish settlement here dates as far back as the 14th century. The ghetto was located in the southwest part of the city. The synagogue was built in a courtyard and has a preserved Baroque aron-ha-kodesh and stucco decorations.
